Two of BGD&C homes take record sales, reported by Crain’s

Quality is a good investment. BGD&C homes prove time and time again to be good places to live—and great investments.

A BGD&C home in Lincoln Park sold for $8.65 million in February without ever going on to the market.

Janet Owen of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago was arranging for photos and floorplans in preparation to list the six-bedroom, 8,400-square-foot home when a buyer’s agent approached her.

Built in 1995, the red brick and limestone house, which Chicago custom home builder BGD&C completed in 1995, is on an extra large 65-by-125-foot lot (typical lots are 25-by-125). The sellers bought the home in 2003 for a little under $3.4 million and later expanded it. Read full article here.

This is not the only BGD&C home to sell for a high price. Last year, a BGD&C mansion on Burling Street in Lincoln Park sold for 2021’s highest price: $12.55 million. Crain’s Chicago Business reported on both of these sales.
